About project
The project Spa for the Soul Vojtěchov was created with the aim of creating a complex recreational and accommodation area that combines quality architecture, sustainable operation and a strong experience of the place. The ambition was to design a destination that would offer different accommodation typologies for different target groups, from couples and families to corporate teams, while being sensitively set in the landscape context of the valley.
The concept works with the potential of the site: the dramatic terrain, the forest cover, the water feature and the historical footprint of the area. The architecture responds to the contours, respects the natural character of the area and creates a harmonious whole where the individual buildings are functionally and visually connected.

A place where peace, nature and contemporary architecture meet
Vojtěchov is a valley where all natural elements – forest, water, stone and air – meet naturally. In the meander of the stream, under the rocky slopes and within sight of the historical trail leading to Bouzov Castle, a space for escape from the hectic world is created. The peaceful valley with its dramatic landscape offers not only relaxation but also energy. It’s a place where you can slow down. And discover at the same time.
The project is based on the local context, both in material and form. The wooden shingles, dark slate, straw roof and natural wood refer to the traditional buildings of the region, which are naturally set in the landscape. Modern architecture here is not a dominant feature, but a partner of nature. It responds to the terrain, respects the contours and creates a harmonious whole of two slopes connected by the valley plane.
Entrance building – the heart of the whole complex
The site welcomes visitors under one distinctive roof, which responds to the flow of the neighbouring stream with its curved, dynamic shape, naturally creating a sheltered space for gathering.
In this central building there is a reception with a mini bistro, a versatile hall designed for yoga, weddings, workshops or teambuilding and an adjoining covered terrace for outdoor activities in all weathers.
The glass facade connects the interior with the surrounding landscape, while the scent and warmth of the wood accentuate the atmosphere of harmony. This is where the slowing down begins, and the first contact with the tranquillity of the valley.
Sustainability as a matter of course
The hotel’s energy concept is based on the use of geothermal vertical probes that extract thermal energy from deep within the earth. This is distributed to the underfloor heating via a heat pump, ensuring even and efficient heating of the rooms. The system also includes waste heat recovery from the spa – the heat from the pool and saunas is further used to heat other parts of the building, significantly reducing the energy consumption of the operation.
Photovoltaic panels are installed on the roof of the hotel, which contribute to the production of electricity for the hotel’s own use. The interior is designed with an emphasis on natural ventilation and a high level of thermal insulation, minimising the need for air conditioning and forced ventilation. The result is not only lower energy consumption, but also quiet operation with no intrusive technologies, in keeping with the character of the quiet valley.
Sustainability is also reflected in the relationship with the surrounding landscape. The project actively promotes biodiversity through the placement of beehives, bird boxes and composting sites. The site thus not only respects nature, but becomes part of it – with the aim of contributing to the long-term conservation of local fauna and flora.
From intimate hideaway to hotel comfort
The project offers different forms of stay that respond to the needs of couples, families and larger groups.
Inspired by the surrounding rocks, the mini-houses of Kaminek follow the contours of the terrain and are angled to provide maximum privacy and views of the community meadow; generous glazing opens the interior naturally to the landscape, and evening seating by the bathing tub under the stars gives glamping a new design dimension.
Inspired by the shape of forest branches, the Větvička family chalets offer comfort for 4-6 people, two separate bedrooms and a spacious terrace that extends the living space to the outdoors – a place for slow mornings and time together without a fixed schedule.
Nestled in a quiet valley, the chamber hotel adds an extra level of comfort to the whole; its cave-inspired architecture combines a solid foundation with a light wooden roof, creating intimate nooks and open areas with views of the landscape. The common ground-level functions, restaurant, spa and ballroom, connect naturally with the surroundings, while the rooms on the upper floors ensure tranquility, privacy and daily contact with the morning mist over the valley.
