The main pitfall of traditional schools is the vertical division that creates central corridors without daylight and connections between floors. The compactly designed school is divided into three volumes according to internal traffic. That creates a legible architecture with a clear inner layout. A transparent school where pupils know each other between classes and floors. Central corridors that intersect the vertical atria provide daylight and clarity for all. Thanks to the compact mass and simple material scheme, low investment costs can be achieved.
1. Land with attractive views
2. Compact form, school forecourt, and courtyard
3. Operating units
4. Low-energy concept
Scheme
Following the economic efficiency, we designed the complex volume of the building as a compact L-shaped form, further divided into three volumes according to the function of the school. The design takes advantage of the ground break to reduce the southeast elevations and lower the building volume on the street side. The position of the buildings maximises the use of the school grounds for sports and garden purposes, creating a high quality school frontage to the school. This creates a legible architecture with a clear internal layout. A transparent school where pupils know each other between classes and floors.
